When people talk about 'games' on Linux, I find they usually mean
FPS-games. Like temulous, nexuiz, enemy territory. 

There are also a few racing games. VDrift looks like it would be pretty
good with a racing wheel. I haven't managed to play at all well with
just the keyboard.

I also recommend Wesnoth. And lincity-ng is pretty good. The kids really
love Supertux, Pingus, planetpenguin racer, Frets On Fire. And when I
get a dance mat I'm fairly sure they'll go mad about Stepmania.
