Thanks for the question! We are in fact already ordering the goods for teams
The plan is to send 3 tshirts per team, about 20 balloons, 30 stickers, some
Ubuntu CDs and some The Open CDs to hand out. We are also putting up
artwork, posters and other collateral for teams to locally print, modify and
general use. Teams are welcome to hand out other FOSS CDs, their own
artwork, handouts and the like. We encourage all teams to run events in line
with the SFD vision and objectives:

Vision

Our vision is to empower all people to freely connect, create and share in a
digital world that is participatory, transparent, and sustainable.

Objectives

   1. to celebrate software freedom and the people behind it
   2. to foster a general understanding of software freedom, and
encourage adoption of free software and open standards
   3. to create more equal access to opportunities through the use of
      participatory technologies
   4. to promote constructive dialogue on responsibilities and rights in
      the information society
   5. to be inclusive of organizations and individuals that share our Vision
   6. to be pragmatic, transparent, and responsible as an organisation

There will be an online shop within the week that will provide the
opportunity for teams to purchase additional shirts at $15 each (just use
the SFD team discount code that will be sent through once the shop is
announced). Teams that are in need of additional support can send a special
request to the SFI Board for tshirts and such. The most in need teams will
get special consideration.

Every year we try to support all the teams that register in time with some
schwag to help them make their events look great (although the schwag is
reliant on teams registering before July 31st), and we have at least enough
ordered for the first 200 teams that register. We already have 115 teams
registered so if anyone hasn't registered their team yet, please do so :)

We also try to provide a point of coordination and cooperation between teams
(this mailing list :) and provide a positive and effective message about
Software Freedom that teams can adopt for their events. Please check out the
Start Guide for loads of useful tips and tricks in running an event:

Rock on for Software Freedom Day 2007!

Cheers,
Pia
