Two items that stand out in my mind are:

1.  I expected visitors to pick up literature and a CD, take a quick look at the demos and then leave.  Surprisingly almost everyone stayed until the announced quitting time, asking questions and wanting to know more about Open Source Software.  

2.  There was not much interest in starting a Linux User Group but there was considerable interest in starting an Open Source Software discussion group to meet regularly to discuss Open Source.

We did start a mailing list and the team leaders are discussing follow-up events.
